Planning of the physical network installation
1. Review of available material
- 10 x 10m Cat6 Ethernet cables
- 2 cables Ethernet Cat6 de 15m
- 1 switch Netgear GS308 (8 ports Gigabit)
- 1 router Xiaomi AX1800 (Wi-Fi 6)
- 1 Access Point Ubiquiti UniFi 6 Lite (Wi-Fi 6)
- 5 double RJ45 rosettes
- 3 sets of channels + flanges
- 2 testers RJ45
- 2 closed communications racks (9U with ventilation)
2. Route design and network structure
- The two racks will be placed in strategic points according to the plan:
- Rack 1 (central): Switch, router, AP i connections to the proper sales.
- Rack 2 (lateral dret): Connections to the offices on the right side and devices in this area.
- Star scheme: all the cables go from the racks to the rosettes installed at each workstation.
- He Access Point will be placed on the ceiling of the central area to provide Wi-Fi coverage throughout the office.
3. Installation step by step
🔧 A. Assembling the racks
- Mount the two racks (central and side).
- Place the router and switch in the central rack.
- Place the auxiliary material (brides, testers) on the racks.
🔌 B. Wiring installation
- Pass the FTP cables through the channels, according to the route of the plan.
- to use the 15m ones for the most distant areas.
- Fasten cables with clamps inside the channels to maintain order and safety.
📶 C. Placement of rosettes and devices
- assemble them double RJ45 sockets on the wall near each computer or station.
- Connect each device with a network cable to its socket.
- Connect the rosettes to the switch of the racks.
📡 D. Installation and configuration of the Access Point
- Place the Access Point on the ceiling or central wall.
- Connect it with a LAN cable to the switch.
- Configure it with the same SSID as the router to create a single Wi-Fi network.
🧪 4. Checks and testing
- Use the 2 testers RJ45 to check:
- Cable order (T568B standard).
- Connexions completes i sense errors.
- Check that each device receives an IP and has access to the network and the Internet.
- Run ping and speed tests to ensure connection quality.
🛡️ 5. Organization and security
- Label all cables (ex: PC Admin 1, Server Backup…).
- Leave some room in the cables to facilitate maintenance.
- Close the racks with a key, if necessary, to avoid manipulations.
